Call Technologies first looked to AEGIS to provide training and mentoring while migrating their client-server
applications to a distributed, enterprise-class application server solution. As their migration effort began Call
Technologies realized that they needed more than just mentoring to successfully migrate and deploy their application.
AEGIS provided technical and project management leadership during the migration and development of
Call Profiler. Call Profiler facilitates real-time servicing of telephone customer orders by providing on-line entry,
rule validation, and switch provisioning. Subsequent to AEGIS' engagement with Call Technologies, they were
acquired by the 3Com Corporation.

As-One is a web-based project management solution that helps organizations achieve SEI CMM Level 3 compliance
by coordinating the documentation of their processes, project artifacts, and metrics. Since As-One's inception, AEGIS
has been a key partner. Our role with As-One (now a property of CNSI, Inc.) has included training and mentoring
of the development team on J2EE and product specific concepts, architectural and development support, post-sales
technical support of their client base, and support of the hosting of their click-wrapped service offering. The
As-One application has also been evaluated by the AEGIS Test Center with load and performance testing prior to
production release. The testing helped ensure that their customers would receive comfortable performance from Day
One. AEGIS' technical support of the As-One team allowed them to focus their energy on selling to their customers
instead of being tied up with technical challenges.

eOriginal is the leading provider of a comprehensive business-to-business e-commerce solution that enables enterprises
to execute secure, online business transactions in which legally enforceable electronic documents completely
replace paper source records of a deal. It offers a complete, comprehensive, and integrated solution capable of creating
Electronic OriginalsTM that are legally accepted as negotiable.
AEGIS helped design and develop a key portion of this state-of-the-art J2EE distributed architecture to support the
eOriginal electronic document processing. AEGIS' extensive expertise in designing J2EE solutions resulted in a
solution that enabled the eOriginal business components to be easily ported between different application servers
on different platforms.
This project used the Rational toolset to manage the software engineering process. The system design was modeled
using the Unified Modeling Language and captured within Rational Rose. The Rational ClearCase tool was
used to control source code access and versioning and the Rational ClearQuest tool was used for defect tracking.

AEGIS designed and developed the Facilibot distributed web application. Facilibot is a web
application designed to provide facility energy analysis services over the Internet. It interfaces
with a government developed facility analysis engine to offer as much as 90% savings off the
soft costs associated with current, manually-intensive methods of energy analysis. AEGIS developed
a framework to present context specific objects, designed batch process logic to interface
with the analysis engine, and created the database schema. AEGIS also developed a demo
application that runs on a wireless Palm Pilot device that shows how a user can easily access
important facility information from a mobile device.

Giant Food is the top supermarket chain in the Mid-Atlantic states. It competes in a mature industry characterized
by fierce price pressures, high labor costs, and low profit margins. A key success factor in the grocery industry
is the control of costs through the efficient use of resources and that's why Giant employed AEGIS personnel
to design and develop the Transportation Management System (TMS).
TMS enables Giant to monitor every step of the distribution process from warehouse loading through delivery to
the stores. TMS incorporates mobile computing intelligence and wireless networks to provide dispatchers with
'total fleet visibility' in real-time. It enables dispatchers to make optimal routing decisions, it streamlines driver
work processes, and it minimizes store delivery delays. All of this leads to a decrease in the overall cost of delivering
goods to the stores.
AEGIS personnel served a variety of roles throughout the life-cycle of TMS. AEGIS personnel helped form the
initial system concept, gathered and documented the system requirements, designed and documented the technical
architecture, developed the system, and provided training and on-going support. TMS has enabled Giant to
streamline its distribution process and has brought industry recognition to Giant. TMS was showcased as the
cover story of a leading supermarket industry magazine, Supermarket Business.

MCI Governments Markets provides leading-edge Internet services, from web hosting to web centers to
virtual private networks, plus a full range of advanced products and services to compliment an organization's
strategy for voice, data, international communications, managed services and more.
AEGIS served a variety of roles on several key applications for MCI Government Markets. Over the course
of a five year span, AEGIS was instrumental in the deployment of three major applications: OETS (Order
Entry Tracking System), NMCI (Navy Marine Corps Intranet), and FAAMS (Federal Aviation Administration
Management System). Our technical team leads participated in setting the technical direction of Government
Markets. The AEGIS Test Center was deeply involved in the deployment of Order Entry and
Tracking System (OETS). Using load testing tools and methodologies, AEGIS was able to identify and
eliminate potential risks before the system's production deployment. AEGIS has been responsible for successful
development of MCI applications using, Java, Sybase EA Server, and Oracle.

AEGIS was contracted by Tempest Re, a re-insurance company based in Bermuda to manage the design, development
and deployment of the Re-Insurance Portfolio Management application. The application provides comparison
data for multiple business scenarios/simulations. Underwriting information is queried to compute various
risk scenarios on potential profit and/or losses within each scenario. The application performs these queries via
the PowerBuilder front-end with Embedded SQL and DataWindow definitions to remain as DBMS independent
as possible.
The project was managed and staffed by three AEGIS consultants. The AEGIS Project Manager was responsible
for managing the Tempest Re development staff. The project began with two weeks of requirements meetings at
client site. Development spanned 10 months. Work was managed and completed at the AEGIS development
center with two code and deliverable review meetings during the development period. The application was delivered
on-schedule and within budget.
